BA (Hons) Textile Design
Kangan Arora is a contemporary textile designer and freelance photographer from the plains of North India, now at home in North London. Her work draws inspiration from vibrant Indian street culture and life on the highways to create beautiful, striking, handcrafted products for the home. Establishing a print studio in 2011 after graduating from Central Saint Martins and the National Institute of Fashion, fine textiles have actually run in the family for more than a 100 years. She maintains a strongly rooted heritage to local crafts and materials; combining screen-printing with traditional hand embroidery and appliqué. Kangan's textiles have recently been showcased at the V&A Museum, Southbank Centre and Milan Trienniale Design Museum, while her photography has been commissioned by Getty Images, CSM, Secret Cinema and Eleanor Pritchard. www.kanganarora.com
