BA (Hons) Fashion Jewellery
London based designer Katharine Anne Taylor graduated from London College of Fashion with a BA(Hons) in Fashion Jewellery in 2013. Throughout her work, studies in to human form, ergonomics, sentimentalism and responsible design and production have provided inspiration. KAT's graduate collection, âThe comfort of Craftechâ, explores her interest in luxury, bespoke products and combines her passion for traditional hand craft and the concept of âcraftechâ; the development of craft with digital processes, to create a commercial collection of contemporary unisex accessories. Inspired by the traditional blacksmithing technique of twisting, the collection develops hand forged steel samples in 3D modeling programs Rhino and StudioMax to produce files for 3D printing and CNC machining. Using English Walnut, and industrial manufacturing techniques the collection demonstrates K.A.Tâs passion for supporting British industries. info@katharineannetaylor.com PROJECTS Fashion Jewellery design for Save the Children Charity, 'Born to Shine' Campaign http://www.ecouterre.com/london-fashion-students-turn-silly-bandz-into-bespoke-jewelry-for-save-the-children/ http://www.handbag.com/fashion/news/a424412/london-college-of-fashion-teams-up-with-save-the-children.html http://housepr.com/london-college-of-fashion-creates-bespoke-âborn-to-shineâ-jewellery-with-save-the-children/ BLOGS http://blogs.arts.ac.uk/fashion/2012/04/12/jewellery-designer-featured-in-fashion-film/
